With La Roux, Space Cowboy, and Robyn, Cherrytree is quickly becoming the imprint of choice for quirky electronic music imports. Add to that list Yuksek, the pseudonym of Frenchman Pierre-Alexandre Busson who has been gaining a following in the bloghouse world with his original tracks and remixes of Chromeo, Mika and Kaiser Cheifs. Launching him for stateside, the first single is "Tonight," a Daft Punk-ish electro track that adds a 70s stadium rock feel as a layer behind the repeated three lines of vocals. The eerie catchiness of the refrain is matched by the cult worship video which feels like it might be part one of a story line (will the video for "Extraball" continue the story.) While the video is safe for work, you probably don't want your boss to walk in on you watching it.Video - YouTube
