It looks like the next trend for dance music in the US is going to be growth of the posse - a group of djs and producers joining forces to build a scene in their hometown. In Houston, there are the Boothpimps and in Chicago there are the Jumpsmokers. The Jumpsmokers, the quartet of CW Griz, Reydon (aka Tony Arzadon of XM/BPM fame), V-Skratch, and Johnny Digital, gained national attention with their track "My Flow So Tight" which attacked Chris Brown for beating Rihanna. Following it with "Don't Be A Douchebag" lightens them up a bit, as it's essentially a comedic rant against the stereotypes/cliches of certain clubgoers - too much hair gel, ill-fitting t-shirts, fake tans, and Ed Hardy baseball caps. Throw it over a sick electro beat and you got the idea. One note though, it probably isn't a wise move to do a product placement for your website sponsor, Syn Vodka, in the hands of the alleged douchebags. Watch out for Jumpsmokers remixes of Mariah Carey and Flo-Rida.
