Song of the Day: Elin Lanto - "Discotheque"

If you are looking for sparkly sweet europop, Sweden is always a good place to look. Coming from the country that brought us Abba, Alcazar, Robyn and September is popstar on the rise Elin Lanto. With several top 20 singles in her native country, Elin is starting to get a buzz in the US thanks to the 80s influenced electropop song "Discotheque." While the obvious comparison is to Setptember due to an uncanny similarity in look, the voice reminds me more of Kylie Minogue circa the "Spinning Around" era. I've heard this song a lot over the past few months and its definitely a grower. If you don't "hear it" the first time, come back in a week or so and give it another shot. With the big chorus trumpetting "Reborn in the discotheque," this could be a dance radio smash in the making.
