Wow. When I first heard about this dance cover of one of Michael Jackson's most beloved and emotional songs, I was a bit uneasy at the prospects. For those in the states, "Earth Song" was a massively huge number one single in the UK (and also big in Europe) about man's destruction of the Earth. I personally think the Hani remix is one of the most exceptional dance remixes of the 90s. A few months ago, Dutch producer Wendel Kos did an amazing remix of "Earth Song." This new version is resung yet keeps the tone of the original in mind. The electrobeats are club ready yet it seems more of a down record meant for an emotional valley of the night. This initial release includes mixes by Blacktron, Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike with a DJ Sammy remix coming soon (he's the guy in the video wearing the green Adidas trainer jacket.) The video for the original "Earth Song" was an amazing piece of work filmed across several continents. The new video uses a soccer ball as an analogy for the Earth, a quite fitting way to represent the way we as a people play with our surroundings. It's important to note that a portion of the proceeds of the single will benefit the HIV/AIDS charity Dance4Life.
