The action flick of the Spring, Kick-Ass, is accompanied by an energetic and effervescent homage track by none other than MIKA. Produced by RedOne (in a production that sounds nothing like RedOne), "Kick-Ass (We Are Young)" sounds like the singer's very own tribute to Pat Benatar, albeit updated for 2010. The track exudes independence for the weird and unlikable, empowering them with uplifting instrumentation and simple, sing-along lyrics. The song really is a landmark for both MIKA and RedOne, as it marks MIKA's first track written for a soundtrack. RedOne's production wouldn't have even registered if it weren't clearly listed on MIKA's official Youtube page. Together they make magic, and if the string of remixed MIKA tracks continues, this one could be tearing up your dancefloor soon.
