Macy Gray making a dance record may seem odd, but when you consider that many of her tracks have been remixed for clubs ("Sexual Revolution") and that she is quite a fun dj to dance to, it makes sense. Her new CD 'The Sellout' is previewed by the beat driven and uplifting pop track "Beauty in the World" which has some of the most inspirational lyrics out there. Speeding up Macy's unique voice to club tempo is often a challenge, yet the UK teams Ruff Loaders and Cutmore both did a great job, adding electro and house elements while keeping it quirky and pop. Watching the video, I immediately pictured Daft Punk's "Around the World." The thought of Macy doing choreography was quite humorous as I see her as such a free spirit with her own sense of rhythm. The video is quite fun and Macy definitely puts her own spin on the choreography.
