Oftentimes different producers will be inspired to work with the same source material or sample and 80s records seem to pop up in multiple records at the same time. Out on Pacha records right now is a cover version of "Heat of the Moment" by Steven Lee & Gaby Dershin featuring the original artist. Asia. While that track is being promoted to US clubs, the Austrian pranksters Darius & Finlay have wisely sampled (or interpolated the melody) of "Heat of the Moment" to create a great summer dancepop hit "Hold On." The original track could be one of those cool, credible tracks that the underground guys go crazy for and the addition of Nicco's vocals make it ripe for crossover for dance radio. So basically it's a record that will fit Ibiza as well as the Jersey shore. Remixes by Sash! (wow, great to see him make a comeback), DJs from Mars, Gordon & Doyle, Sam Walkerton, DJ Gollum and Micast extend the appeal to just about every flavor of commercial dancemusic. The video couldn't be more cliche if it tried, so just close your eyes and picture yourself poolside enjoying the ending of Summer 2010. "Hold On" will build on the success of Darius & Finlay's previous singles "Do It All Night," "Rock to the Beat" and "Destination."
