Following up the brilliant club hit "aNYway," Armand Van Helden and aTrak have teamed up again under the guise of Duck Sauce to create the quirky and fun "Barbra Streisand." Based on a sample of Boney M's 1979 hit "Gotta Go Home," the bouncey discohouse clip plods along and stops every so often with a voice saying "Barbra Streisand." It's just so random and unexpected that on first listen you are like, what the heck is this? With the Boney M sample, its just so catchy that you're all in. "Barbra Streisand" is one of those rare club tracks that is instantly memorable on first listen, so much so that I was deluged with emails and text messages after the first time I dropped it in a club set. For crossover, they enlisted a Barbra Streisand impersonator and filmed a video all over what I am guessing is New York showcasing various people saying the title line and reworking the song with live scratching, sampling, vocal effects and more. Is that Kanye west sitting down at 2:19 into the video? I don't know but I wouldn't mind getting that hot chair for my living room. "Barbra Streisand" could easily be the next big novelty club track after "Americano."
