First and foremost, the original "Price Tag" song is generic pop drivel. There is nothing forward-thinking or entertaining about it, save that it's mid-tempo, a change from today's 128bpm pop world. In the far shots of her new video she looks like Katy Perry, and up close she's a big old mess. So why feature her? Remixers Doman & Gooding have taken a mediocre track and turned out a stellar mix I would shake my ass to. They inject the track with a much-needed dose of energy and drama, giving Jessie J a point for her lyrics. The mix, at just under 5 minutes, fits easily into radio mixed-sets as well as the dance floor. The mix even makes B.o.B. sound good!
