Nominations have been announced for the first annual induction into the Dance Music Hall of Fame. The awards "recognize the contributions of those who have had a significant impact on the evolution and development of dance music and will celebrate the history and significance of dance music" with artists and industry becoming inductable 25 years after their initial release or contribution based on the criteria of influence and significance of their work.
