Our last day was Monday, which was pretty short and sweet, as we had to catch the airport shuttle at 5. We woke up, hung out with some friends who were also staying at the Rabrinni, checked out of the hotel, and headed back to the Opium Garden for the MAW Electronic party. The party was slated to start at 2—I think we may have gotten in sometime around 3.30. Jazzy Jeff played the main room, doing a completely ridiculous true B-boy style set. The second room was dedicated to deep house sounds provided by South African DJs, Vinny Motshegoa and Claude Mabaso. The goodie bag was off the chain, of course, with a double 12 of MAW music, and a sweet treat from DJ Spinna. All in all, it started off as a great party, and I only wish we could have stayed to the end. Oh well, there’s always next year!
