RS: How do you think your sound has changed from the old days to the new days?
April: Well, when we first started it was real poppy dance music, kind of younger sounding, and now it's a little bit more mature.

RS: Very cool. Well, I have a friend who wanted me to ask you a question before I go back to the classics. He saw the movie Popcorn that you're in, and he wanted to know what was it like filming a horror movie in Hawaii?
April: Why, that's a rumor, that's a joke. Popcorn, what is that?

RS: OK, he said that where he saw you in a movie called Popcorn, a horror movie that was based in Hawaii.
April: I wish I was in a horror movie called Popcorn, but no, no, no, I haven't been in a horror movie called Popcorn. Though I think the record is doing really good in Hawaii, All Night Long. I just got a report back from the Hawaii DJ Association and they said that they really love the single, so maybe we should perform there as well. But no, I haven't done any movies. Maybe he's talking about one of the other girls, I know Idalis did a lot of acting so she may be in it, but not me.

RS: KIKI is a great station in Hawaii, they really love dance music on that station.
April: OK, yes, that's where we are going to shoot for, We want to try to really work in some really warm places, especially with such a cold winter. <laughing

RS: So, let's go back to the beginning, how was Seduction formed, the original Seduction?
April: Seduction was formed by Robert Clivilles and David Cole of C& C Music Factory.

RS: How were you chosen for the group?
April: I grew up with David so I knew him since we were kids and I was very good friends with his sister. They had already picked Idalis and Michelle and they were looking for a black girl. I saw him at a concert and he was like April, I've got this group that I think you'd be perfect for, call me and then I want you to meet me with my because I think you'll be perfect for this. I went to see them and they said OK, we think she's perfect too. I knew David for years and he knew that I sang and he plays, so I trusted him. If hadn't known him I don't think it would have been something I would have been eager to be a part of.

RS: Were you looking to go in another direction in music?
April: Yes, I really wanted to do like a real straight R&B type thing, more ballads, a more kind of longevity kind of career thing, that's what I was most interested in. I thought Seduction was cute, something for me to do for the summer. I was really young, just getting out of high school and just trying to have some fun and things to do. So, it was amazing that it was a hit. Probably, the next month after I was in the group, we were already set up to tour. Then the album is finished in about six weeks and then it was just crazy after that and really fast.

RS: Did you think it would be that big when you signed onto it?
April: No, that's really odd, I thought it was going to be a summer job, I did.

RS: Well, I'm going to ask, probably this is a sensitive question, there has been long rumors that Martha Wash was involved with the project to some degree.
April: Yes, Martha sang '(You're My One and Only) True Love,' which was the first single that was released before the group was even formed. That's what made them form the group because they put out a song over the summer and the song took off, and then they needed to have put together a group of girls that sang and performed. So Martha sang '(You're My One and Only) True Love' originally, and then we went back into the studio and we recorded it.

RS: So, are you still in touch with Michelle, Idalis and Sinoa?
April: Idalis is a really good friend of mine so I speak to her a couple of times a month. I never really got close to Michelle so I don't have any connection with her. Sinoa, I haven't seen her in years, but she was a pretty good friend of mine too at the time. But I think she's living now in Costa Rica, something like Dallas, Texas... She's in-between Texas and Costa Rico.
