RS: What brought you back to Louisiana after living in Florida?
Alyson: I missed friends and family so I went back home for a little while, but now I'm back in Florida.

RS: How did you start getting booked around the country?
Alyson: I ended up spinning for a club in New Orleans called 735; my Manager Mike Mazer owns it . He decided to give me a shot in Miami, and from then on things just started happening . He pretty much is the reason . There are so many awesome DJs out there, I just lucked out and got a break.

RS: I have heard you spin and you don't just play one record after another. What are some of the tricks that you do to make a night uniquely yours?
Alyson: If I tell you, I'll have to kill you!

RS: How do you describe your style of music?
Alyson: I can't really define it- it's just my style .

RS: How much of your set is Vinyl versus CD?
Alyson: I bring about 100 pieces of wax and the rest of it on CD. I'm switching more to CD nowadays because my shoulders are starting to look a bit like Arnold Schwarzenegger . :-)

RS: What do you think of DJs who use laptops and mp3s as opposed to vinyl or CD?
Alyson: It's all good, rock what you got!

RS: Do you like being referred to as a "circuit DJ?"
Alyson: Not really, I think it's kinda putting a stamp on me. Whether it is a circuit party, a rave, or a Bar Mitzvah, my passion is making people dance .

RS: Do you find your influences to come more from the house or rave scene as opposed to the circuit scene?
Alyson: It comes from all of them. Regardless of what scene the music comes from, if it moves me - I buy it.

RS: How did you choose songs for your Party Groove CDs?
Alyson: The Blueball CD has a little more of me on it than the Oz one. I chose a lot of percussion for that CD, it starts off fun and works its way to the peak and then comes down nicely. I basically picked a lot of my favorite records at the time. The Oz CD was for a Tea Dance , so it was geared toward more vocals. I chose the hands in the air anthems for the diva in all of us.

RS: What inspired the move into production? How did you team up with Barry Huffine?
Alyson: I have always wanted to produce and one day Barry came into the record store I was working at and asked me to help him on a track. That track became "Wurkin" with Ceevox. Barry and I just have great chemistry together, in and out of the studio.

RS: Where did the name Housekeeperz come from?
Alyson: We were throwing names around left and right and nothing was working - then BAM it just happened - Housekeeperz, we laughed and said, yep, that is it!

RS: What's coming next from your production team?
Alyson: We just finished our newest single called "Bodies Movin" with vocals from Angel Infiniti... Listen for it soon!

RS: What advice do you have for up and coming DJs?
Alyson: Be Yourself!

RS: What are your goals for 2004?
Alyson: I don't have that many goals, because sometimes if you pre-plan, it never happens that way. I'm open to whatever the big man upstairs throws my way.
