DJ B: The other things is, as I do some graphics for various local electronic shows, I have a copy of Archaos and do various things with plug-ins for some of the online players that you can get. But you bring your own guy with you, so it sounds like you've got really a full multimedia experience for people.
Bad Boy Bill: Yes, I mean we stuck out some different screens and projectors and, but like I said I don't have control over what exactly the promoters or the clubs have. Wherever we can, we plug in our visuals and we have our other stuff, and we have a lot of cool multimedia stuff happening while I'm DJing.
DJ B: Have you got anything in the works in terms of like stuff for the international house label that's going on?
Bad Boy Bill: We constantly have new music coming out, we have a lot of stuff for Ichar, we have a lot of stuff for Moody, there's a couple of our other labels as well. There was just some really good music coming out. We are constantly looking for new music and constantly putting stuff out, as well as my own material that I've been working on and me and Peteris's record that we did and actually I'm behind the decks, The Rock Star Just Dropped. It's got that on one side and on the other side there's a track that I did called Freak, and then another track that Peteris did by himself with MC Flipsider as the second cut on the B side.
DJ B: So you're staying busy?
Bad Boy Bill: Yes, I mean I've got to.
DJ B: I noticed also from looking at this All Music Guide profile on you that Bang In The Box 2 through 5 is still available, the first volume evidently, is that like a collector's item now?
Bad Boy Bill: I don't know, I mean as far as I knew it was still available. It could have, it could be out of stock it could be
But I think, as far as I know, that we still have some copies at their record label so I don't think it's
DJ B: Get them while they last, eh?
Bad Boy Bill: I think House Connection One because the label, when me and Division did House Connection One, I think that label went bankrupt, so then
.
DJ B: Might be harder to find?
Bad Boy Bill: I think they just went out of business, but that was Bwax, that title might be a lot harder to find, is House Connection One, but I think Bang In The Box 125 should be available.
DJ B: What made you do a London disc?
Bad Boy Bill: Banging In London was basically a project that a company called Master Tone from England approached me to do, and it was just going to be a UK and US release. And so yes, they approached me, I went out there, I did some gigs and I tried to make it a little different from the Bang In The Box series and I think a lot of people responded well to it, yes, it was pretty successful for us.
DJ B: Yes, speaking of success, I mean you've won all kinds of accolades, the DMC finalists, Urb Magazine, second place DJ of the year. I was looking on the DJ List, which is a web site that ranks everybody, they just have people vote for their favorite DJs, and you're slotted in there in between IC and Deepdish, which is some pretty big company.
Bad Boy Bill: Yes.
DJ B: And you were also the DJ of the year a Winner in '98, are you going back this year?
Bad Boy Bill: Yes, I've been going every year man, it's like the place to be if you're in electronic or dance music, you've got to be out to music conference in March. So I'm definitely looking forward to it.
DJ B: Do you know where you're spinning?
Bad Boy Bill: Yes, I'm going to spin a couple of parties, I'm not sure exactly which ones yet, I know I'm doing Opium Gardens with, I think it's DJ Rap and a couple of other people. I think that's for the Sony Playstation. And I'm not sure what else I'm going to be doing, but I'll be down there representing and having a good time.
DJ B: Right on. She was just here by the way, I don't know if you know that or not.
Bad Boy Bill: No, I didn't, no.
DJ B: Yes, we're bringing all the stuff down from Chicago we can get our hands on.
Bad Boy Bill: No doubt.
DJ B: So I want to thank you for coming on the air and being live with us. If people who haven't heard your music before want to know one reason they should spend their Super Bowl Saturday night with Bill here in Nashville, I mean what would be the one thing you would tell them?
Bad Boy Bill: Energy man, I'm going to bring the energy. If they want to come out and have a good time and hopefully get their asses on the dance floor. My sound is peak hour and prime time and it gets you, gets you pumped up, that's the way I'm going to bring it. So hopefully if you're into that, come on out.
