DJ Ron Slomowicz: Where were you born?
Candee: I was born in the Dutch seaport city of Rotterdam.
RS: How did you get into music?
Candee: Music has always been a part of my daily life. I've loved music since the day I was born. It is probably in my genes..
RS: What kind of music did you listen to as you were growing up?
Candee: I listened to all kinds of music, but like most girls I was a big Madonna fan.
RS: What else were you into as a teenager?
Candee: As a teenager I was already working very hard on my career. I was taking ballet classes, worked as a model, had roles in soap operas, etc. But besides that I was of course totally into shopping, going out and just being a regular teenage girl.
RS: Did you always know you wanted to be a singer?
Candee: First, as a little kid, it was all about dancing, but not long after that I discovered the joy of singing. Now I try to combine those two disciplines as much as I can.
RS: How were you discovered?
Candee: Pronti & Kalmani discovered me during one of my performances. It was one of those "right time, right place" moments. And look at me now; my dream became reality!
RS: What about Pronti & Kalmani attracted you as a singer?
Candee: I was already a huge fan of their earlier work, so I was very thrilled about the fact that they wanted to work with me. They have a very unique style of producing and we have great chemistry!
RS: How much input do you have as an artist in your album?
Candee: We work on the music as a team. A lot of my personal experiences are used as a basis for the songs. Pronti & Kalmani are great songwriters; they help me create songs that express my feelings.
RS: How do you describe your musical style?
Candee: Energetic, positive and emotionally charged.
