RS: What is your favorite piece of production gear?
ATB: I really love my Mac (G3), because with this piece of great technology I can get my ideas recorded wherever I am

RS: Where did you find "that synth" for the sound of 9PM?
ATB: Have a look in my studio, maybe you will find the piece of hardware

RS: Are you planning on rereleasing any of your early instrumentals with full vocals, like other trance artists are now doing?
ATB: Nothing planned right know.

RS: Have you ever recorded songs under another name? A lot of DJs thought you were York at first..
ATB: Ha ha, no. York are friends of mine. I have never used a pseudonym.

RS: On your previous album "Dedicated", you had a rather controversial song called "Get High." What kinds of things make you "get high"?
ATB: To be honest, my flying license which I recently got really gets me high.

RS: Speaking of getting high, how did you approach remixing the Bob Marley song?
ATB: I have a funny approach to remixes, if I do a remix I always hear the end product before I start. If I don't hear it, I will not do the mix. I start by loading the vocals and then do the basic groove. After playing around with the vocals, I play the harmony then arrange the whole thing to fit my vision of the song.

RS: Is there any singer you want to work with, but haven't?
ATB: Ehmm not at the moment, but I will have my thoughts and if I think of someone, I will try to have her/him on my next album.

RS: A lot of your songs have to do with the themes of love, loneliness, loss and anticipation. I understand that you've had a long ride on an emotional rollercoaster in the past couple of years but why did you decide to express your emotions and feelings through the electronica/ambient/trance/dance genre rather than, let's say, R&B for example?
ATB: I believe my outlet is dance and ambient music. There is some great R&B music out there, but at this moment I don't feel that I should be producing this. But you never know, maybe one day as I am very interested in all sorts of music.

RS: Do you prefer touring as a live act or a DJ? How do you prepare for the different sets?
ATB: I only DJ and there isn't a live act. I pack my record case for each and every gig amd every country and club is a bit different

RS: How do you choose your records for your DJ sets? How many of your own records do you play?
ATB: I get booked because of my name and the music I produce, so I play some of my tracks as well as the great music from other producers. This is the advantage of being a DJ, you can play other people's art as well.

RS: Is there anywhere you want to perform that you haven't yet?
ATB: I love to travel and play around the globe but I try not to travel as much now because I want to stay near my studio and home - I love my home sweet home. The people's interest in my music and DJ sets make me feel really proud.
