Ron: In addition to DJing, you've done some great productions. What was the inspiration behind Pusaka?
Irene: Pusaka is something that me and Chris share, Chris Cox of Thunderpuss, I've known him for a very long time. And I actually wrote it about another person who I was going out with and discovered what that person was really all about, it was all a façade. I didn't think the person wasn't the person who I thought, you know, individual thought was an end of. So I wrote about it and then I gave it to him, I just told him about the idea. I was like, oh look what I'm working on and he said I want to work with you on it. So we wrote it together, we wrote the lyrics, and then we got Thea Austin involved, and she's just amazing, she's the most amazing singer I've every worked with, just amazing. And I told her what I was writing about and we got it over and done, and we did it like in one day, and then we finished it the next following day, and there was Pusaka, You're the Worst Thing for Me.

Ron: Where did the name Pusaka come from?
Irene: Oh, it's a little joke, so I want to keep it like that.

Ron: OK.
Irene: The C is like Pusssaaka.

Ron: Are there any new productions coming?
Irene: Well, I have some production. I would like to collaborate with other DJs and producers, and I'm keeping that under. I do have a partner named George Centeno who I work with, and we're working together for the last desert. On my new CD, Fearless, there's about six tracks that we did together, but it's not all DJ Irene, name and different groups and stuff like the Caligula is by me, the Funk For Fun is by me, the intro they have with Thea Austin, it sounds real bluesy, that was me and George and Thea. So there's just a few new things coming out and I would like to come out with an album soon, and I'm in talk of doing stuff like that too. So, I'd like to do more stuff like that.

Ron: So is that how you describe your musical style - that noise you just made?
Irene: Nobody else does. I don't, but I just make fun of it, you know, because I'm just full of energy, that's what DJ Irene's all about. But you know, your question, I remember you saying how does it feel to be a female in a man's world? That question, I will be honest with you, I really hate being asked that question, because it's not about me being the female, it's being the person, the individual. And being able to go out there and play my heart out and see other people, other DJs, and say wow, that's great, I wish that was me. Or you know, it's all about just complementing each other, it's not about a competition or anything because we all love the music, when you have music in your soul, there's no way of running away from it. So, on that point, that's what I'm starting to believe, that it's being able to say you go girl, you go boy, I wish I would have done that, that's a great ideal, I would do something like that.

Ron: I'll go do that in New Jersey next week.
Irene: Are you going to see me in New Jersey? Or am I in Jersey?

Ron: I don't know, I was just throwing it out there.
Irene: Oh OK, because I can't remember half the places I'm at.
