DJ Ron: The title "Fly Again" seems to fit the personal themes of your other title tracks "Land of the Living", "Stronger" - is this intentional?
Kristine W: Just because that my hope is that I can somehow get my life back.

DJ Ron: The artwork on the CD cover seems to reflect this, like the surreal paintings of Dali and Kahlo. What's the significance of the whole butterfly/moth/web imagery?
Kristine W: When I went in for my chemo, the first chemo treatment. See where that needle goes into my chest, that's where the catheter went in, and it pierces through the cut there, right there, and then they put the chemo into you.

DJ Ron: From your personal struggle, lets take a look at a professional struggle. Another serious topic right now is mp3 downloading. What effect do you think mp3s and the internet downloading have had on your career?
Kristine W: Well, I think it's kicked everybody in the pants pretty good, don't you?

DJ Ron: I definitely could see that.
Kristine W: Oh yes, it's trying to finish us off I think. Why should anybody buy something if it's free? It doesn't make sense, right? But I do think that the exposure that I've gotten has been very good too though.

DJ Ron: And so it draws more people to your live performances and your other projects?
Kristine W: Maybe, I mean there's no way to measure that, we just kind of try to see something positive in all this.

DJ Ron: You're good at that, finding something positive in just about everything. One positive think about the internet is your website. It's absolutely incredible and constantly updated - how much are you involved with it?
Kristine W: Oh, quite a bit actually and Phillip, the guy that does it, is amazing. Phillip Scearce, he's a very talented artist.

DJ Ron: You have a lot of great people working with you, how do you like your new home Tommy Boy Records?
Kristine W: I really like them; they're really super fantastic people.

DJ Ron: Being on an indie label now as opposed to the big corporate major, do you have more artistic control on this new album, is it more your vision?
Kristine W: Yes, I would say so.

DJ Ron: I hear Tommy Boy is planning a big push on your album internationally - what countries are you looking forward to performing in?
Kristine W: Any and all! I'd love to perform in Australia.

DJ Ron: How hard is it to get your saxophone and the drum kit through airport security?
Kristine W: Really hard, that's crazy. I do it but it's torture!

DJ Ron: I can only imagine. One thing you're especially known for are your incredible live shows; will you be hitting the road to promote this new album?
Kristine W: I'm going to try, probably not as much as I used to, just because I've got to be a little careful.

DJ Ron: Is "Living Out Loud" going to be the opening number for the new tour?
Kristine W: Oh, is that what you like?

DJ Ron: Yes, I like the way it starts really quiet, like you don't know what's happening. Like the beginning of Hair, where people are walking around talking, it's very subtle and then it just sort of explodes!
Kristine W: Cool. Yes, we really liked the idea off that little ditty, I'm glad you like that, that's cool.

DJ Ron: Your album is full of great ditties. Who did you work with for "All That Really Matters"?
Kristine W: Ray Roc

DJ Ron: He just had a big hit with that "Never" song.
Kristine W: Yes, he's a really talented guy. He's cool too, I like him as well. He had a cool little pad there in Brooklyn I think it was. We had fun together.

DJ Ron: Is "Crazy Life" autobiographical about your journeys in "Clubland"?
Kristine W: Yes.

DJ Ron: Is there a specific story which inspired that?
Kristine W: Well, just the ongoing story that we've been living for the last ten years in the club scene, right? Wouldn't you say? It kind of fits, right?
