The German duo who brought a 60s cult back to life with their currently hit Somebody To Love sampled by Jefferson Airplane comes back with yet another 60s remake ready to hit the button for success all over again. Their second single entitled Sunny; is taken from the 1966 classic by Bobby Hebb. But I believe the sample they used for this single actually was by Boney M from the 1970s. I like the fact how the Boogie Pimps actually take remixing a remake to the next level. With everyone always using a 80s or 90s sample, they took it a step further and looked to the 60s for inspiration. Something that I like very much as I feel it helps bridge the gaps between our generation and our parents generation. The one thing that can get confusing about the Boogie Pimps is they release so many different versions on various labels with various mixes that it can sometime be hard to keep track. Just look at how many different mixes you have for Somebody To Love.
So in this case Im just going to tell you the remixes that are out there and leave it up to you to go on your own scavenger hunt. The mixes and remixes include the Original Mix, The UK Club Mix, Quasar (not to be confused with Sadams late son), Antek, Laurent Pautrat, Juno IM Oktober Mix, Pimpin Sunny Mix and Rockin Sunny Mix. Im sure there are more and more on the way so stay tuned for this soon to be hit that was already a classic.
