Many of my friends don’t get Techno music. They don’t understand the nuances and precision that go into producing it and complain that it is all made with computers, by non-musicians. They see an often nameless, faceless genre and don’t give it the time of day. Obviously these people haven’t been exposed to the stark beauty of a Kevin Saunderson, DJ Rolando or Alexander Kowalski release, and they certainly have never heard, Dave Ellesmere. Building on the momentum from his excellent “Angry Young Computer” release of 2002, Dave is back with an even more outstanding piece of work. For classic sounding Detroit Techno like “Walking Sideways” and “Punched Away”, to the musically stark “Omni Present” and gorgeous “Crystal Clear”, Dave does his thing and shows why he is not merely a Techno producer…but a musical talent of the first degree. Stunning release.
