Erasure - Oh L'amour

Mute Records
Andy Bell and Vince Clarke are back, prepping the world for their Hits retrospective. This EP consists of three "Oh L'Amour" mixes, two minimal electro new tracks, and live footage of "Victim of Love" from Copenhagen earlier this year. The August Mix of "Oh L'amour" is bleepy and acoustic guitar based, and would rightfully be the track of choice for most radio outlets. Carsten Kroeyer's mix is beepy and downtempo (and fairly unnecessary). But the LMC Mix, by former Development Corporation honcho Lee Monteverde, is hands-in-the-air fabulous, rivaling the two classic mixes of "Oh L'Amour" from the past (1986's Funky Sisters Mix and 1996's Matt Darey Mix). Don't pass it up.

Released November 2003 on Mute Records
