One listen to this CD proves how precise Kazells sense of programming is. He knows how to use the music to set the perfect mood. This mix constantly leaves the listener thirsty for the next step in his carefully executed, suspenseful progression through layers of percussion & throbbing basslines.
Most mix CDs within this genre feature only 7-8 tracks that are usually 12 minutes in length & all sound the same, but dont expect that from Kazell. He is truly a master of the mix. The vibe constantly changes as he effortlessly & flawlessly transitions from one track to the next every 3-4 minutes. He also makes it a point to mix in key, even modulating to relative keys at times with each new bassline. (Your classically-trained fans thank you, Kevin!) Standout tracks from Jay Tripwire, Patrick Turner, Silicone Soul, Bjorn Mandry, and Sasha, along with Kazells own productions with Mike Hiratzka make this CD shine brightly amidst the dark, cloudy landscape normally associated with the current progressive purveyors. This guy is the deal, so if names like Sasha, Digweed or Kleinenberg mean anything to you, do yourself a favour- buy this CD and make every effort to witness Kazells skills in person.
