What happens when one of the UK's hottest promoters joins forces with an equally hot record label? Sundissential 3 that's what. This hardcore, banging double CD, mixed by a couple of Sundissential favorites, is quite a breathtaking experience. Sundissential veteran Nick Rafferty mixes the first nineteen tracks for us in a truly flawless manner. He begins this set with a slamming floor-filler in Mauro Picotto's "New Time New Place." This is a fitting start to a high energy CD such as this. The action does not let up there. He transitions into the DK tune with a catchy name called "Murder was the Bass." This in-your-face track has an almost drum & bass sound with funky synth leads and a solid bassline. The lovely Lisa Lashes asks "What Can You Do for Me?" This song has truly been "Lashed" with a smooth tranced-out break and a fierce build-up. No real way to describe it except excellent. Next up James Lawson & Steve Hill bring a Nukleuz exclusive track to the table in "You & Me, XTC."
They slow it down for a second on this track right before shoving you back into the action. Our gracious host, Nick Rafferty, teams up with PBS on "Groovin." In this mix he plays the Jez & Charlie remix which meshes nicely with this set. A couple of Nukleuz exclusive tracks begin the homestretch for the first CD. The first exclusive is once again Nick Rafferty along with The Coalition. They bring the track "U" to the disc. "U" has a real moving vocal with an incredible build-up into sheer dancing bliss. My favorite track of this disc is the Ed Real, Rowland & Wright song "Pretty Fast." This hardcore techno track has the most innovative sample I've heard in a while in it. It samples Ferris Buellers Day Off and is a total classic. Mighty fine work gentlemen. Wrapping up the first disc is another exclusive in Ben Johnson's cover of the Faithless masterpiece "We Come 1," which gets the full-on hardcore remix treatment from Nick Sentience. Quite a way to the finish it out, very strong.
Hang on gang, there is still a second disc we haven't even touched yet. Illogik steps up to the decks and picks up right where Rafferty leaves off. This producer, DJ, and record label owner has keen mixing ability and keeps it hard and fast.
Starting out the second disc is the first of many Nukleuz exclusives. Equinox lets the listener that they are "Condemned." Nukleuz artist Andy Farley lends his remixing talent to this wicked track. Iilogik co-produces quite a few tracks on this disc, first of which he teams up with Paul Janes on "Hole in the Speaker." The raw synth sounds build until they almost created a hole in my speaker. Pounding!! "The Hoffman Experience" is what James Lawson and Anne Savage (So Hot!!!) call their exclusive hardcore trance track that is cut up by Iilogik in a superb fashion. Next we move onto Iilogiks' own remix of Signums' "What Have U Got 4 Me." It retains the classic mellow sound of Signum flanked by the pounding bassline of Iilogik. BK & Rob Tissera take us to the "Zulu Nation." This track has some nice percussion elements with some bell sounds in the beginning; annteresting track that goes well with the mood of the CD. Another Nukleuz exclusive song is Mark Johnson & Dave Holmes with a "War on Drugs." This song has a warm trance feeling but it does not let up on the energy factor. This song is a beautiful peak for this disc. Rounding out the second CD is another Lisa- Lisa Pin-Up. She brings a banging track in "Goes Like This (Bang)."
Rowland & Wright lay down the remix on this. It has the sounds of church bells ringing and a raunchy synth bass song that is unreal. Nukleuz brings its "A" game in this hardcore dance machine called Sundissential 3. If you have ever wanted to dance where you stand, then go purchase this set today!!
