Satoshi Tomiie & Hector Romero - Undulation 1

SAW Recordings
Do you remember Twilo? Do you remember how the basslines boomed & throbbed throughout the cavernous chambers like no other club you had ever been to? Do you recall that feeling of sheer joy as you set foot onto the dancefloor while surveying the huge hall for a glimpse into the DJ booth to see the person(s) responsible for your current state of euphoria? If, for one reason or another, your memory is a little fuzzy, I recommend picking up Undulation 1 from Saw Recordings for a little refresher course in "Dark Progressive House 101."

In a relatively short span of time, Saw Recordings has established itself as one of the premiere US progressive house labels alongside Sunkissed, Shinichi/Yoshitoshi, Addictive, Fade, and a few others. Their artist roster reads like a "who's who" of A-list DJ talent sporting releases from Medway, Stephane K, Lexicon Avenue, Cass, Gabriel & Dresden, and Satoshi Tomiie. Saw Recordings has built a strong reputation for a sound characterised by deep, dark progressive house with a dash of progressive breaks thrown in as of late to stay in stride with the big boys from across the pond like Bedrock, Choo Choo, Hooj Choons (R.I.P.), and Renaissance.

The great minds at Saw Recordings wisely enlisted the extraordinary talents of Satoshi Tomiie & Hector Romero to compile & mix this retrospective, and the results are nothing short of spectacular. Even if you aren't a fan of progressive house, you will surely recognise the intricate subtleties associated with programming tracks of this nature. Strong showings from Lexicon Avenue, Stephane K & Meat Katie, and Satoshi Tomiie himself make this album a joy to listen to, but the true shining star is the brand new vocal tune from Echomen entitled, "Cure." Beautiful vocal delivery coupled with flawless production make this tune the embodiment of beautiful progressive house music.

Definitely a progression from the original "Twilo Sound" that we know & love so well, but that same sound that changed your life is still very apparent thanks to Saw Recordings. Head west on 27th one more time. You'll be glad you did.
