Kylie Minogue - Body Language
Kylie Minogue has been delivering quality and experimental dance-pop for more than 16 years now, and in her many incarnations (late-'80s pop tart, mid-'90s alt-popper, intergalactic disco goddess in the aughts) she has always been responsible for records where technology and good songwriting intersected magnificently.

Ultra Trance 3
New York Dance Music host Ultra Records gives up their third installment in the Ultra Trance series. This double disc set is a continuously-mixed party stitched together by Johnny Vicious. It is exactly what you should expect from an Ultra Records compilation release, a CD chock full of dance floor fillers with everyone from Kelis to Tiesto, Underworld to Lucas Prata. It is quite a range of artists.

Diana Ross & The Supremes - The #1's [ORIGINAL RECORDING REMASTERED]
This is like the Rosetta Stone of dance music; you can hear the Holland/Dozier/Holland sense of rhythm in all that we call dance music today. The great early Supremes records are perfect variations on a similar theme, with a one-two rhythm structure that makes even the least confident of dancers feel okay shaking it (this is similar to how trance’s beats are all 1s. To wit: standard pop rhythm structure is 1-2-3-4, the first Supremes classics are 1-2-1-2, and trance is 1-1-1-1). [p]
