Discovered dancing at a nightclub, singer/songwriter Billie Myers exploded onto the international music scene with her debut smash "Kiss the Rain." A remix by the Thunderpuss team introduced her to clubland and a Junior Vasquez remix of "Am I Here Yet" continued the relationship. With "Just Sex," Billie takes us to a new climax with her explosive and direct lyrics and delivery. What's coming next?

DJ Ron Slomowicz: So where are you based out of?
Billie Myers: Los Angeles.

RS: What brings you to Florida?
Billie Myers: I'm going to be doing some writing down here with some Grammy award-winning chaps who are very kind enough to let me write them and learn from them. I used to live here when I worked with Desmond Child on the first album.

RS: Very cool. I read in your bio that you're working with Jason Nevins.
Billie Myers: We have written two amazing tracks. It was one of those interesting things that someone suggested to me. He's incredibly talented and the guy should be a producer in his own right. I was so incredibly inspired and surprised, he's amazing.

RS: I'm actually really excited he's working with you because he normally does dance remixes or rock-oriented remixes. I'm guessing with you it's a different direction?
Billie Myers: Some of it is, yes. He's enabling me to retain the fun element as a singer/songwriter while bringing in a more contemporary and modern feel. I'm really excited about the combination. He's added an energy to the recording sessions that I have previously only ever achieved live.

RS: You are also working with Patrick Leonard who crafted Madonna's early songs.
Billie Myers: I don't know if you've ever met him but he's just amazing. Not only is he an amazing writer and producer, but he's also a really nice guy. He's funny - he sits in lotus position while he plays the piano. That alone endeared me to him.

RS: Let's talk about your new single – "Just Sex." It's pretty direct, where did the idea come from for the track?
Billie Myers: I watch so much television. We can turn on CNN and all the cable news outlets and we'll see people being killed left, right and center, legs blown off - you name it, we'll see it. But, everyone gets in an uproar if there's a discussion about sex or there's too much sex on the TV. Sex is ultimately one of the most natural and fundamental instincts of being a human being and we make such a fuss about it. When I see someone and especially if they're completely unobtainable, which most of the time everybody is, I would love to just walk up to someone and say "Honey, come on, it's just sex."

RS: I've got to ask - are you British or European?
Billie Myers: British.

RS: OK, that explains it.
Billie Myers: What do you mean?
