What do you get when you mix 4 producers/DJs and a dance diva? DJ's Are Alive is the fusion of DJ Skribble, Scumfrog, Static Revenger, and D:Fuse with Kristine W singing along.
Born out of a Texas party that went awry when lightning killed the power, the crew joined hands to do a live set alternating spots on live percussion and the decks. Scumfrog and D:Fuse have incorporated live percussion in their dj sets, so accompanying Skribble working the Pioneer EFX (a la James Zabiela), their set inspired them to form a new hybrid of DJ and live performance. Kristine W, known for her live shows where she combines singing, dancing and playing saxophone and drums, came on board at the suggestion of Static Revenger, another DJ with a strong musical background.
Fresh out of the studio with their debut single "Gimme Some Love," DJS are Alive are set to debut their live performances at the Winter Music Conference in March. It just might be a little more exciting than a guy playing with his laptop on stage...
