RS: Why did you call the album Disconnect?
Jes: Well, it's not a negative thing. I's like when you disconnect,
there are a couple of meanings. I constantly tell myself to
disconnect because you have to just disconnect from things in order to
move ahead - clear your mind and let things in to your soul. It also
has a little bit to do with trying to disconnect from what I was doing
and moving forward and creating another phase of what I wanted to be
doing.
RS: You did a video for the Solar Stone track and one for
Motorcycle, are you doing any more videos off this album?
Jes: We did one for Ghost because it was out already. There's a
video on YouTube and there's a video that was on TMF and on in Europe
for Ghost, which is the radio edit of the album version, and it's
actually from the Tiesto Elements of Life tour. It shows you a little
backstage and Tiesto is in it and everybody that's on the crew. The
crew was like 30 people, and that was so fun. I'm getting ready to
make my next video for Heaven, which is the next single.
RS: I want to ask you about that because I know that you'll do
dates where it's just you on the road with a stage manager or just one
or two people, but then traveling with the whole Tiesto camp, such a
big crew, what's that like?
Jes: It's been so much fun really, because you become like a family.
It's a huge crew, like touring with any big, huge rock band and
there's so many people working on it and you see each other all the
time and we got to fly together and stay in the same hotels. We all
rely on each other and everything's very synchronized. It's been a
learning experience and I've met so many new friends. Even with all
the pressure to make a great show, because it's so large and there's
so many things going on at the same time, its all a good time for us.
RS: Speaking of a good time, are you still selling underwear
from your website?
Jes: Oh yes, I sure am. I made a man's thong as well. The boys from
Deepsky were making fun of me so I made Scott a pair as a joke.
RS: What is your official website?
Jes: My official website is planetjes.com. I'm also on myspace at
myspace.com/planetjes. There's also a very nice fan who's done a
Motorcycle site as well, Nick, so I get a lot of letters from there.
There's another fan site that Jay Sustain made for me as well, but the
official one is planetjes.
RS: What would you like to say to all your fans out there?
Jes: Thank you so much for all the love, I really feel it, and that
you've kept me going. I hope you buy the record and like it. There's
a lot more music to come. I have been working on some new things as
well that are going to come out in a couple of months. So keep
listening…
