RS: Being based in England, do you go out clubbing a lot, or where do you discover the new sounds you put on your records?
Andy: We basically buy lots and lots of records and get sent lots of records, and theres a few things like DMC and a thing in England called White Disc that is basically pre-released stuff. Because were doing so many gigs with Soda Club, most weekends were out in clubs anyway doing PAs on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, we get to hear a lot of new tunes and it gives us an idea of whats in at the minute and what sounds are in at the moment. The sounds do change, every three to four to six months something news come along, so youve got to keep on seeing things and changing sounds and seeing whats in.
RS: The past week or past month lets say, has there been a record youve heard thats just like wowed you? What other records besides yours?
Andy: I like Lasgos Surrender at the moment, I think thats quite good.
RS: Those Belgians are incredible
Andy: They are actually. I saw Lasgo when they came to Manchester about a year ago and they did a PA at a club that my mate Mike Lewis DJs at. I watched them perform and they did an amazing performance about six tunes one after the other. They were all segued into each other, and it was one of the best PAs Ive ever seen. So Im quite a big Lasgo fan. Evi is really good, shes got an excellent voice and she was absolutely brilliant.
RS: I also heard that you all race cars together.
Andy: Yes, were quite into rally cars and things like that, so for quite a long time we had a rally team. That was quite a lot of fun until we crashed the car and completely wrote it off, so we stopped doing it.
RS: Is there anything you want to say to your US audience thats growing every day?
Andy: Just keep dancing to the trance music, its really, really big in England and I think what people probably dont realize is that in the UK trance is pop, it regularly goes into the top ten and twenty with artists like the Milk Inc, Flip and Fill, Kelly Llorenna, Resonance Q, LMC and of course Soda Club. Hopefully all this kind of music will transfer over to the States and you guys can pick up on whats going on over here.
