One of the many highlights of doing this website is hearing new music and talking to the people who make it. Last year, Andy Weeden (Andy and the Lamboy) sent me a track called "Come Rain, Come Shine," and asked for my opinion. On first listen, the song was absolutely amazing with the catchy Wings sample, singalong chorus and fantastic singer. At the Ultra showcase for Winter Music Conference, I was awestruck by the amazing performance of Jenn Cuneta.

Koop
Magnus Zingmark and Oscar Simonsson make up the Swedish writing/arranging/production duo Koop. Together, they are responsible for the highly acclaimed "Waltz for Koop" album, released in 2002. "Waltz for Koop" was a triumph of proper jazz music infused with touches of electronica. "Waltz for Koop" catapulted the duo into the forefront of the "nu-jazz" scene, and led to numerous remix projects.

Nadine Renee of Planet Soul passes away
Nadine Shamir, known to dance music fans as Nadine Renee, passed away last Thursday due to complications from childbirth. Teaming up with George Acosta to form Planet Soul, Nadine sang the international club and pop smash "Set U Free." In 2000, she released the album Oasis of Love on MCA Records and was very active on internet sites like MP3.com.
