With three massive singles blowing up around the world at the same time – “I Got My Eye On You” with Nari & Milani and Cristian Marchi, “Shut Your Mouth” with Bodyrox, "Figure It Out" with Dave Aude (under the name Isha Coco,)" and “Make Boys Cry” with David Vendetta – Luciana is having an amazing 2010. The year has continued with crossover success for “I Like That,” a huge club record she did with Static Revenger and Richard Vission that grew in reach over the year. Over the past few years, Luciana has collaborated with some of the best artists – Fedde Le Grand, Taio Cruz, Martijn Ten Velden – a long road from her start as part of the Crush duo who did “Jellyhead.” In addition to being an incredible songwriter and vocalist, her sassy persona comes through in her electric performances - boozy, unique, and a tad off-center. She's the loved-up bird you want to party with at the club...
RS: You were amazing performing “I Like That” last night at the Winter Music Conference International Dance Music Awards.
Luciana: You saw it?
RS: Yes, you were so great last night.
Luciana: I was nervous.
RS: You had no reason to be. Was this your first time performing in the US?
Luciana: No, no, no, I did some shows in LA at Avalon and in San Francisco at Ruby Skies and Endup - so I've done shows in the States for this track.
RS: You first became well known for your big Bodyrox track.
Luciana: That's right, “Yeah Yeah.”
RS: How did you meet up with those guys?
Luciana: I'd known one of the guys, John Pearn from Full Intention, and he got in touch with us because this track was already big in the clubs as an instrumental with a D. Ramirez mix in Ibiza. It was really big and they wanted to cross it over, so they sent the track to us and asked ‘can you write something over this?’ We did, and then I think it was so quick. It was really weird, because the track was already big, it happened in like eleven weeks and we got to number two in England. It was amazing.
RS: Then “What Planet You On” came next, another hot song. What was it like filming that video?
Luciana: Oh, you know what? The actual filming of the video was really odd because it was greenscreen so it looked like I was going on different planets, but when I'm there all you're doing is pretending you're on a planet. You’re feeling a bit weird because all you're doing is jumping on to a box which is painted green. So it’s all a bit odd, but yes, how brilliant is that video? They worked so hard, the boys, on that video.
