The M3 (Miami Music Multimedia) Summit is back for a second year, following up its hugely succesful debut with 4 days of events merging "modern music, technology, fashion and multimedia art as an integrated lifestyle." Main elements of the 2005 M3 Summit include workshops, networking mixers, nighttime events and other specialties.
Workshops
Daytime workshops kick of with a discussion with MySpace.Com President and Co-Founder Tom Anderson talking with URB magazine publisher Raymond Roker. Keynote speaker Lawrence Lessig (Law Professor - Stanford University) and Scion sales and promotions manager Jeri Yoshizu will also be speaking at the M3 Summit. Workshop topics include mobile music and technology, live music presentation, video games and music, legal file sharing, and satellite, internet and other new forms of radio.
Networking Mixers
Remember the old days of networking poolside at WMC? M3 is introducing, Primetime, a networking session for getting to know and exchaning information with everyone from labels and publishers to music supervisors and lawyers. The Raleigh Hotel Poolside will be the location Friday night from 4pm-7pm with representatives from EMI, DMX Music, MCT Management, Bug Music, Search Party and more on hand for networking.
Nighttime Events
David Prince, the founder of the M3 Summit, is well known for the MasterList which compiles all the week's events for Miami. An M3 Summit badge will insure entrance to Passport Events which are highlighted on the MasterList. The M3 Summit will also host the Sunset Sessions poolside at the Raleigh Hotel (Wednesday) and nightly at the Double Tree Surfcomber (Thursday-Saturday) featuring performance by Ben Watt, Derrick Carter, Eric Kupper, The Glimmers, Greenskeepers, Mylo, Louie Vega and many more.
Other Specialties
How about a gadget lab sponsored by WIRED magazine showing the latest tech toys will be on hand for registrants to test drive? Who else but M3 would think to include daily yoga classes taught by Miles Maeda? Or if yoga isn't your thing, M3 registration includes a complimentary workout at Crunch fitness center. Also of note is the infamous M3 shoulder bag, the perfect bag for holding your camera, phone, CDs and other items when shuffling around South Beach all week.
