Numark iDJ2 iPod Mixing Console Review
Prior to my purchasing Numark's IDJ2 iPod mixing console, I had been using Numark's Virtual DJ software program, utilizing the 20-day trial version but it also meant that I had to schlep my laptop to and from the place where I would be DJing, the Gnarly Vine wine bar, located 15 minutes from my apartment in downtown New Rochelle, New York. I chose the IDJ2 platform versus using "real" turntables, which I've never owned, or CD-based mixers, which I own but haven't used in years...

NAMM, the International Music Products Association, held its Summer Session in Nashville, allowing me to peruse through all the new equipment that will soon be hitting the market. Working my way through the auditorium, I searched out the gear that DJs will be lusting after and found a few common trends (DVD mixing and Turntable-controlled CD players) as well as some other interesting pieces.

Public Service Announcement - Protect Your Hearing
Over the past few years, I have noticed a gradual change (for the worse) in my perception of music and sounds, finally last year June 2003 I had an extensive doctor's evaluation and my diagnosis is that I have permanent hearing damage as a direct result of my exposure to high decibel music. My hearing damage curve is what is commonly called a "musician's curve". My hearing loss from constant exposure to extremely loud music is PERMANENT, now that it is gone, I can not get it back.
Over the past few years, I have noticed a gradual change (for the worse) in my perception of music and sounds, finally last year June 2003 I had an extensive doctor's evaluation and my diagnosis is that I have permanent hearing damage as a direct result of my exposure to high decibel music.
