Dark Underground Circuit ala Peter Rauhofer, Murk, Rosabel, Oscar G, Ralph Falcon, or most of the tracks you might hear on the label *69. Pop Latin Club/House ala Thalia, Paulina Rubio, or anything like this that leads the boys into chaos and frenzy.

I've had many influences over the years but nothing has had more impact on me than the club-dance music that originated in Italy in the mid to late 80's. It's one of those things where you had to be there. All the Italian dance tracks always had English lyrics because English is the universal language. I was introduced to Italian dance music in 1986 by Terry Chapman who was the owner and DJ at the Arena night club in Dallas. The first track I ever heard Terry play was Albert One "Secrets" and I knew that this was the music I had been searching for but never finding in a tragic sea of "Kool & The Gang" and "Hall & Oates". This music was very hard to get because they were all imports but fortunately Dallas had Oak Lawn Records and they carried all the Italian tracks and I was in heaven! Terry influenced many people over to Euro-dance until his untimely death in Baltimore about 10 years ago. Most of today's modern trance and techno evolved from this genre and other music from Europe during this time. (Sometimes this music was referred to as "Asian New Wave" and was at a much lower BPM, around 110-120). Electronic music can be traced even further back in time to such electronic music legends as Bobby "O", Patrick Cowley, or Giorgio Moroder. If you are a hopeless fan of electronic music like me, do some of your own research on the net and search for the history of some of these artists (especially Patrick Cowley), you will be very fascinated!

Most memorable are the Italian dance labels such as Time, Asia, Flea, A-Beat-C, BMS. Classic tracks like: Silver Pozzoli: "Around My Dreams", Albert One: "Secrets" and "For Your Love", Miko Mission: "How Old Are You", Sabrina: "Boys", Ken Laszlo: "Hey Hey Guy", Mark Farina: "So Long", Gipsy & Queen: "Gipsy Queen", Why Not: "Smile" and most tracks produced by Mark (Mauro) Farina (No, not the house DJ), G. Crivellente, F. Fadinger of SAIFAM Publishing group in Italy which is still a major producer of popular club dance music in Europe today!
