Nathan Ashby Bio

Nathan Ashby has been involved with music all his life. Growing up in Memphis with the deep blues and rock-n-roll sound, all the way up to his teenage years spent making mixed tapes for high school cheerleaders and dance teams to bounce to. He was the headlining DJ on Saturday nights at Impulse, a now defunct Memphis club, and currently does the Tea Dances at the Pumping Station on Sunday afternoons.

His sound can best be described as very drum-heavy (tribal if you will) and circuit friendly. He draws major influence from the legendary New Yorker, Junior Vasquez. Nathan has a unique, one-of-a-kind style when he spins. He prefers to "create" music rather than simply play records; constantly weaving tracks together in a musical collage. When's he's not DJ-ing, you can find him in the studio piecing together one of his many private mixes.
