If you were to ask any of my coworkers who I was... they would respond, "oh, the girl obsessed with dance music that always seems to be out of town?" As vague as that may sound, it is not far from the truth. I feel like I have traveled extensively the past year - visiting Amsterdam, Ibiza, Madrid, Toronto, Montreal, Miami, and DC. Many of my friends ask me why I work so hard to only blow months and months of hard work on a two week vacation while at the same time I wonder how they are not going insane living such a monotonous life. I might not have a lot of show from it from their eyes other than a collection of t-shirts, hundreds of pictures, shot glasses, and quite a few humorous stories... but the music I've heard, the dj's I have gotten to see, the people I've met and gotten closer to, and most importantly the memories of these trips mean the world to me and will never be forgotten.
Playing the clarinet and piano for ten years got me into the music notation software Finale, which allows you to compose, edit, arrange, and listen to the music you create. After years of bringing music to life with Finale and countless hours of practicing these instruments, I bought my first pair of Technics M5G's. I wanted to try something different and playing records seemed to be a good start, and three years later has somehow led me into buying Ableton Live. I have a long way to go but am completely immersed in this software.
As much as I hate to admit this... other than travelling, I live for nightlife. My inner gay man tells me that evenings are not well spent if I'm not covered in glitter, with my left eardrum bursting, and clothes reaking of vodka and sugarfree Red Bull.
