Billed as the "world's largest gathering of professional DJs," the International DJ Expo 2009 took place August 10th-13th at the Trump Taj Mahal Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City, NJ. The event featured over 25 educational seminars, networking opportunities, over 50,000 square feet of exhibitor space with 130 vendor booths and nightly parties with artist and DJ showcases at Atlantic City's top venues.
You may ask why they called it "Take 2," it's because this is the second year that the event was based at the Trump Taj Mahal.
Here is our coverage of IDJ Expo:
Dancemusic.about.com was in Atlantic City en force with two excellent site writers joining me to cover all of the events. Ben Norman and Mike Stier wrote about their experiences from the week in these wrapups:
The Promo Only & Pioneer Showcase at the Showboat is the highlight of the DJ Times Expo each year. It's sad to say but most of the time in clubs, the focus and spotlight is on the DJ and not the performing artist. This annual showcase is one of the rare occasions where the artists can sing their songs to a more than grateful crowd.

Another highlight of the International DJ Expo is always the Exhibition Booth where companies premiere and announce their latest products.

It's amazing the response we got to our dancemusic.about.com buttons that we hand out during events. Here are pictures of the dance music world's finest holding up the infamous button...
There were so many great live performances during the week, it was hard to choose which ones to feature in the videoclip section.
Pictures always tell the story better for me, so here is my wrap up of the week with the pictures sorted by day.
