Without radio play, how are dance artists able to get their music heard outside of nightclubs? The Music Plant Group have a plan - a television show with a compilation tie-in, Turn It Up America. The TV show, which premieres this Thursday late night at 2am on WGN CW Superstation, will feature live performances, video clips, and artist segments.
Now this might remind you of Dance Mix USA from the 90s, but instead of using faceless europop acts, the show and CD features performance by real artists - who write, produce and perform their own music. Spearheaded by Music Plant leader Georgie Porgie, often called the Ambassador of Dance Music, he has united a diverse group of artists: Pepper Mashay, Barbara Tucker, Fredrick Ford, Rachel Panay, Ohsha Kai, Jason Antone, and more to be part of this.
The compilation CD is available online now and features five top ten club hits ("I Believe," "Lost Yo Mind," "The Real Thing," "Free Your Mind," and "My Number One"), the exclusive pre-release of Barbara Tucker's "Love Vibration" (the much-anticipated follow-up to the smash "Most Precious Love") and future hits by Jason Antone ("Be Free") and TNT vs The Waitresses.
