RS: What are you guys working on in the studio right now, music-wise?
Nick Terranova: Right now my artist album for Ultra and I've almost
finished that and Austin's working on his album as well.
RS: When you say you're album is that a Starkillers album? A
Pimp Rockers album?
Nick Terranova: It's a Nick Terranova album.
Ron: Are you collaborating with other people on this album?
Nick Terranova: A few other people Jeff Retro, Austin, Martin
Accorsi. It's basically collaborating with myself and a few tracks in
there from some other people.
Ron: How about your album Austin?
Austin Leeds: Well, Nick and I, we're always together during each
step, so even with some of the Terranova, Hilo, and the Starkillers,
the same thing applies. I've got three solo tracks and one of them " I
Can Get Away" is out now on Ultra Weekend 4,. We helped co-produce
that, so a bunch of stuff will be with Nick producing it, with Bogek,
who works with Martin Accorsi and is also a friend. We've got to do
something with a few of the guys we've worked with in the past and I
would like to do some more stuff like that. So it's going to be mostly
solo stuff, but then I've got to do a few collaborations as well.
RS: Nick, I noticed that you have that great tattoo on your arm,
of the stars. How long did that take, and what does it mean to you?
Nick Terranova: Its the whole music scene flashy and it gets
peoples' attention. It's the whole Starkillers thing, and rock star
tattoo thing. It brings the whole picture together. The significance
is my version of the Twenty-First Century rock star kind of thing.
RS: Well, speaking about being a rock star, on the cover you're
surrounded by all these beautiful girls. Is that how you normally
live?
Austin Leeds: That's how it was in Jersey and that's how it was in
Boston last week. I have a lot of girlfriends and girls I know, and I
try to appeal to the female audience as well. I've never been the
type of guy to hang out with a bunch of dudes. I mean, I'm not like a
testosterone freak right or anything. I enjoy my women and girls, and
like to be surrounded by them. So I mean yes, definitely, it's more or
less how I live my life.
RS: What would you like to say to all your fans out there, Nick?
Nick Terranova: I love all of you and no, I didn't fall off. I'm just
doing my album right now, so be ready.
RS: Austin, how about you, what would you like to say to all your
fans out there?
Austin Leeds: I would just like to say thanks for all the support and
coming out to the shows. It's amazing that people just love this stuff
so much. Nick and I know what it was like ten, fifteen years ago,
getting in the clubs, kind of sneaking in, just to meet a DJ and speak
about production. I mean to play in front of thousands of people is
just incredible. People come out and say, 'Hey man, you guys
influenced me the most. You're my favorite producers, and I'm making
music now because of what you guys are doing.' It feels amazing,
because I felt that same way with Danny Tenaglia or some other great
DJs or other great performers in general. It's really inspiring, to be
able to do that. So it's one big circle of musical inspiration, and a
lot of goodness out there.
