RS: Very cool. The guy from Stealth mentioned you were doing either a podcast or a new radio show.
Roger Sanchez: A podcast, and I do have my radio show, Release Yourself, that I've been doing for a while.

RS: How have you taken to the podcast world?
Roger Sanchez: Well, it's interesting, it's almost an abbreviation of my radio show that I do right now. Because what we do is highlight the best parts of the radio show and then put them in a podcast for that. So it's been working very, very well for me.

RS: Do you think t that's going to be a good way to bring you album to a new group of people?
Roger Sanchez: I think not only my album, but the music that I play and that I make in general. It's a great way to bring it to people and definitely to new audiences. The future really is in a digital domain and I think we all have to understand it and try to work within it.

RS: Your website's pretty incredible in that regard, how much have you worked on your own website?
Roger Sanchez: The initial setup was done by my brother, Gabriel Hill, and then it was taken over by this company called I-Kill, and I'm very involved with the conceptual side of it. They get involved with the graphics and how it all works out, and then we constantly talk about technology upgrades and updates to the site.

RS: I also see you're big on Myspace, have you played on there much?
Roger Sanchez: I love Myspace. It's kind of hard to keep up with both websites with the kind of schedule that I do, so I'm trying to really focus in on both of them and spend as much time as I can on each of them. But Myspace is just such a great promotional tool and also a great way to meet people online and be close to your fans. And one kind of drives the other, like the Myspace is so big that it's driving people to my personal website as well, so it works out both ways.

RS: I don't know how to ask this question, so let me just tell you what I'm thinking. Every time I see you in public you look amazing, you're well-styled, you're well-spoken, and you really put a really great face. I mean when you were hosting the award show, you always look and sound great like a well-polished musician and artist, and not just a DJ you see running around in sweatpants or whatever. How important do you think your image and presentation has been for your career?
Roger Sanchez: Well, I think it's incredibly important that you represent yourself well. You know, I could speak slang with the best of them, but at the same time you have to represent yourself properly, especially to the world at large. For me, it's not a gimmick. I love clothes, I love design. I design clothes- I'm actually working on a clothing line right now with a French designer, a French label called Face. I'm a detail-oriented person; I like to take care of the details, I like things to be just so. You know, so it's important. I think that people recognize that and it's the thing that DJs haven't had in the past. It's OK to be a bit of a pin-up boy sometimes.

RS: Well, speaking as this role model, what advice do you have for the DJs and producers out there?
Roger Sanchez: The first thing is to have a very open mind musically and technologically, be ready to move with the new technology and the new formats that change. And the other thing is to love what you do. If you're going to do this, you've got to do it out of love and don't expect to get paid, because millions are out upfront and know that this is going to be a great way to meet girls. You've to go to do it for the love of music, everything else will follow. And always take care and give a hundred percent on your presentation and on everything you do.

RS: About your DJ sets, are you playing mostly CD and vinyl in your live sets or in digital formats?
Roger Sanchez: Pretty much all CDs right now. I'll transfer vinyl onto CD now because of what I can do with the CDs. With my live performance that I do with the band, I use a DVJ with DVDs with visuals locked onto a stripped-back version of every track that perform. And that's a really interesting one that I've been kind of developing out of the live end of things.

RS: Is there anything you want to say to all your fans out there?
Roger Sanchez: Definitely check out the new album, Come With Me. Also I have Release Yourself Volume Five coming out soon. Get yourself over to Ibiza this summer, I hope to see you out here.
