'The Stars Are Real' is Alcyone's debut album, a collection of nine singles that span various genres. While the tracks might be different in terms of classification, they all share highly synthetic sounds and deep soulful vocals. Alex Newman and Suzanne Sterling combine their experience from various festivals along with their experience in the studio to create this nearly psychedelic album.

The tracks on this album include ambient, dub, trance, and deep house. For a serious chill-out session, this is an excellent selection that won't disappoint. My only real complaint is that the vocals attempt to sound overly profound and often feel like the words are just crammed into place to fulfill that profundity. While this album may have its shortcomings, it really is a nice way to relax from the harder sounds I typically listen to.
