At the tender age of 23, Argyris Theofilis, aka Argy, born in Rhodes, Greece, is a talented young producer who quickly climbed the ropes whilst living in London. Debuting successfully with the Love Dose EP on his home label Poker Flat, Luciano's remix of "Love Dose" (purchase/download) was named the "best remix of 2005" by the influential German magazine, Groove. Soon after a string of releases followed on the likes of Poker Flat, Cocoon, Raum Musik, and liebe*detail.
Following on from Guido Schneider's Focus On, Argy presents his first full-length project with home label Poker Flat, after spending time in his Berlin studio. Focus On features a track list of new and older Argy productions as well as collaborations with the likes of DJ Gregory, The Mole, Solomun, and Jerome Sydenham.
The 1 hour mix compilation pivots from luscious tech-house-crossing spectrums to a futuristic tribal track. Featured also on the mix are 5 exclusive tracks. Teaming up with Canadian The Mole the duo show off their personalties with a funked-up filter track in "Cantstandlovegetaway," (purchase/download) one of the 5 exclusive tracks. Legendary Parisian DJ Gregory adds to the mix, with his collaboration on "Our Drums," a redefined tribal track with heavy tech elements. Rounding out the mix is Sydenham's remix of Argy's "1985." Sydenham does what he does best with his remix. Staying true to the original with massive organ stabs, Syndeham delivers a dubbed-out and beautiful track.
