While Audioscape is no stranger to the club scene or to dance music in
general, they are definitely breaking new ground with their latest
endeavor. They are mostly known for remixing the likes of Darude,
Rachel Loy, and Organ Donors and have been featured on some of the
biggest compilations, like Clubland X-treme's Hardcore 2. Even though
they have had success in that arena, it seems that Audioscape has
decided to take a break from remixing other artists and work on their
own album that showcases some of their own work while highlighting
some of their best remixes over the past few years. With the inclusion
of previously mixed songs added to lineup of various new songs,
Audioscape is finally releasing their debut album Trance Form on the
Nukleuz label.
Trance Form contains twelve tracks and is an exhilarating if somewhat
predictable euphoric trance mix set including two of their own remixes
and a P.H.A.T.T. mix along other offerings such as their well-known
tracks like "One Heart & One Mind," "No More Rain," and recent tracks
like "All My Lovin" and "I Don't Want to Lose You." Of course, there
are some new and unknown tracks like "Acid Storm," which is a gem of a
trance track, which combines the pounding rhythms of trance with the
fragile tones of acid. Other new tracks that are contained on Trance
Form are "All My Lovin" and "I Don't Want to Lose You" featuring
Annikka, which work so well for this album while definitely holding
their own up on the club floor. Vocally, the album includes such
artists as previously mentioned Annikka, Kelly C, and past
collaborator Rachel Loy, who's single "I Can Feel It (Lovin Me)" is
also included. Each vocalist is more than able to hold up each track
and definitely give each song a somewhat epic sound which helps
permeate the trance experience even further on this album. The album
also includes the Audioscape remix of Organ Donors' "Blackout," while
finishing the album is P.H.A.T.T.'s remix of "Walk Away" which
happened to be one of Audioscape's first hits and shows how they have
progressed over time.
As far as artist albums go, Audioscape have produced a fairly decent
set that fulfills the needs of most trance listeners even though it
doesn't seem to break any new ground. Trance Form contains some pretty
good tracks that showcase their newest sound while indulging us with
some of their now classic remixes and leaves one impressed in how well
they have crossed over from UK hardcore to trance. While it may not be
the best out there in trance, if you like anthemic trance then you
will more and likely enjoy this album and the musical experience it
offers.
