Considering how much dance and rock have comingled lately, it makes a lot of sense that someone would come along and put together a collection of dance tracks that have a heavy rock 'n' roll influence. All 15 of these selections are relatively current and touch on some of the biggest records of the last year or so. The biggies are Deep Dish's "Flashdance," Armand van Helden's "Hear My Name," Eric Prydz' "Call on Me," and the Freestylers' "Push Up." And the rest of the selections are solid too. The Lovefreekz's "Shine" works an ELO sample hard, Milky's "Be My World" showcases Milky's seductive vocals and tasty music, and Junior Jack's "Da Hype" catapults the Cure's Robert Smith into dancefloor heights. My favorite song here- with Milky a close second- is Annie's "Chewing Gum." The song is excellent! Her vocals are perfect and the music has a tight electro feel, and uses a Tom Tom Club sample to delightful effect. Check out Annie's full-length.
