Bianca - All I Ever Wanted

This fresh-faced beauty has a sweet but strong voice, bringing the sounds of Christina Milian and a young Brandy to mind. Bianca's voice is the obvious result of training and is not as sultry as Brandy's, but still a good voice. This voice is the only reason I gave the CD a second chance. The first time around I stopped and started, walking away between songs, at times trying to find a rhythm or theme and I couldn't. So I take a second listen, soon I find myself dancing and singing along with "All I Ever Wanted" and "Ex Factor," then mellowing with the pretty ballad "S.O.S."

Just as find the rhythm, "Vegas" happens; the song that disrupted my first go-round. "Vegas" is completely out of place, the music and even her vocals fall short, not meeting my expectations of the CD. Now here comes the backhanded compliment: After saying all that, this is not a bad song, but it just doesn't fit with the groove of the CD.

I moved on to the next song without stopping, finding the theme again, a sound that is a nice blend of ballads and music that makes you move. My favorites on the CD are "How Can We Be Friends," because I love slow, sappy pop songs, and "Where'd You Learn To Kiss Like That" a song with moderate rhythms and interesting lyrics that provides a perfect ending to this CD. I recommend giving Bianca a chance and I see good things for this artist with a sweet voice.
