I have been fairly fortunate lately when it comes to CD singles. I have only gotten one that is just okay, and this is not the one. Yes, Bob Sinclar's "Love Generation" is definitely a keeper. While it is not what most people will think of as standard dance music - if there is indeed even such a thing - it is dance music.
Thanks to its island feel, reggae sound, and strong acoustic guitar, it will indeed get you moving. So much so, that it will make you want to dance with someone as it asks you to "be the love generation." Sure it seems like a lot to ask, but really it is not when you are on the dance floor, in your home, or wherever you are listening to this lovely little single. The Radio Edit, the Club Mix, and the Full Intention Dub are the three best cuts off this single and they make this single worth buying.
The Full Intention Dub is good and Ron Carrol's Black Church Feeling is alright as it tries to explain the power of love and why it is so important to helping everyone in the world get along. It also changes the song's overall tempo to more of a gospel feel. While the added lyrics are indeed interesting to listen to and convey a very important message, this track just does not work as well as the others do musically. Last, there is the Kenny Dope Gutta Remix. I did not particularly care for this mix. I simply do not think it does this quality song justice. But if you want more beats, then this remix may be for you. Personally, I would have gone with even more of an island sound for this cut - adding steel drums and some real drums to the mix. But then I just review them, I don't remix them.
