With "Shine," Nadia and Cherise (a.k.a. Booty Luv) not only cover Luther Vandross, they also release their first Hed Kandi US single. The song was already a modern classic with Luther, and their 2006 cover version is a stellar production and filled with great vocal performances. Moto Blanco provides more bells and whistles than the original with a flashier production and heavier beats, while the Hoxton Whores electro-dub it with a weird warped vocal edit that, in my opinion, murders the song. The Passengerz provide the new 2008 remix in both Radio and Club edits. Strangely, both are different. The radio edit is a funky, chord-driven late night jazz club affair, while the club mix loses the chords in favor of a slightly more techno feel; something you might find in a driving video game like Grand Theft Auto.
Summary - While the original version is still tops, you can always listen to the Passengerz Radio Edit and dream of a longer version.
