If you're a Cascada fan or need a shot of audio caffeine, get crunk with CAPP Records and Mental Madness' release Bounce. Special D's "You" is a kick in the face and starts off the disc strong with a female singer over that hard-hitting Cascada-esque programming interspersed with a few vocal samples.
Slightly slower-paced "Everything is Changing 2008" by Rikah blends lightly vocoded vocals and hot synth work for a punchy dance number.
You won't be able to resist singing along with Sun & Diego's high dance energy cut "Falling Apart." It starts off at a half-time pace before breaking out undulating bass and some nice piano work. The vocals of Rachel Hiew deliver its catchy melody.
The 666 vs. re-cut mix edit of Brooklyn Bounce's "Sex, Bass, & Rock 'n' Roll" here still contains the key electric guitar riff, male spoken vocal, and a lot of the same sounds of the original-- not making for a very compelling remix, unfortunately.
King Junior pulls off the Elvis cover ("Hound Dog 2008") quite well. The vocals are delivered with a quirky Elvis-like spin. There's plenty of electric guitar and sampled crowd noise laid over a bed of decent dance music and a cool spoken bit in the middle.
Finally, Cranberries cover "Zombie" by Andrew Spencer and the Vamprockerz got my attention. The female vocals are pleasant and complement the dance style. They forgo the grating way the original is sung while the programming is dance/electronica with some electric guitar sampling.
Weighing in at a whopping 20 tracks, there is a lot of material here. The disk says it will be available at amazon.com and iTunes, so give it a listen before adding it to your collection of various artist releases.
