Considering I've seen Craze 3 times this summer, one could easily guess that I've been anxiously awaiting this latest CD. Now, having listened to this CD several times, I must say I'm as impressed as I'd hoped to be. Unlike Craze's previous mix compilations, this CD is composed of mostly Drum and Bass. The track mixing is near flawless, the track progression stays fairly constant, and the turntablism is unbelievable.
As for the style of Drum and Bass, the CD starts out with Photek's No 1 Sound. It then immediately moves into some Baron, Pendum Baron, Hive, Gridlok, Keaton & Echo. Next is my only complaint on the CD: Subfocus X-Ray doesn't play out long enough. Without laying down the full tracklisting, I'll also mention Total Science, Zinc, and Fresh get some play in this mix.
To stress just how good the turntablism on this compilation is, Craze is the only person to win the DMC World Championships 3 years consecutively. Luckily, for Drum and Bass heads like myself, Craze has been bringing more and more Drum and Bass into his sets. While this is fantastic, Craze's live sets are nearly impossible to find, even to the most resourceful connoisseurs. So, to finally have a Craze Drum and Bass set of this caliber in my collection is a real treat.
