Dangerous Muse - The Rejection

80s retro darlings Dangerous Muse offer up this set of remixes for their delicious throwback track "The Rejection." In the 118 bpm original mix, the sexily disaffected vocal and understated synth production hearken back to the best of the New Wave scene from two decades ago but may prove a bit slow for some dancefloors unused to a wider range of beats-per-minute. To provide a tempo that may fit better into many DJs current sets as well as adding to the song's looming sense of drama, Eric Kupper jacks the tempo to 126 bpm in his mixes, as does Goddollars Arms Up Mix, a chunkier 125 bpm Electro interpretation. But overall, it's the 120 bpm SilverSpirit Cyberstalker Mix that's the best of the bunch as it layers in gorgeous new synth lines over the delicately pulsing arrangement. An excellent release that we can only hope will be just the beginning for this exciting new duo.
